Foodalicious Friday — And My TV Debut!

Happy Friday 🙂

I was fortunate enough this past week to have been asked to go on the WZZM noon news to do the fitness segment. It was a huge honor for me and I received such wonderful support from all of my friends, family, clients, and even people I don’t know! If you missed the show, you can find the video here — I talked about how to work your core while standing (which is MUCH better for you than doing crunches on the ground!). You can also find a write-up of the exercises I discussed here.

What’s even more awesome is that they asked me to keep coming back on Tuesdays to do the Tuesday noon news fitness segments until their regular trainer returns! I’m very excited 😀

It’s been a long, cold, snowy winter here in Michigan and it’s definitely made it tough to not only get around town safely, but to find the motivation to eat healthy and work out. The food thing is always the hardest for me (I love to exercise and am lucky enough that it’s my job so I do it every day!)…. and I definitely have a sweet tooth! So when I found this healthy cookie recipe amped up, I was sold. And the flavors didn’t disappoint!

Healthy Chocolate-Chip Cookies
*Makes 10-12 cookies
Ingredients:

  • 3 c. quick oats
  • 3 going-brown bananas (mashed)
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 2 Tbsp. peanut or almond butter
  • 1/4-1/3 c. dark chocolate chips
  • Optional add-ins: dried fruit, coconut, butterscotch chips

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mash the bananas first then stir in the oats. Melt the peanut/almond butter until it’s somewhat runny then mix that into the bowl with the honey and finally your chocolate and other add-ins. Bake for 15-17 min. and let cool before enjoying!

Once again, thank you so very much to all of you who support me and my work. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it!
